Sensors inside the tires monitor air pressure and air temperature and output corresponding messages in case of a decrease in pressure in one or more tires; the pressures can optionally be shown on the display.

The tire pressure monitoring system serves to warn the driver of falling pressure in one or more tires while the vehicle is on the road. If desired, the pressure in each tire can be shown on the multifunction display.

Correctly inflated tires have a longer useful life and contribute above all to active driving safety. The tire pressure monitoring system can help to detect diminishing pressure in one or several tires while on the road, thus avoiding possible serious consequences.

To this end, a sensor inside the tire measures the air pressure and air temperature. These data are sent at regular intervals by wireless transmission to a receiving antenna on the underbody and relayed to the control unit.

If desired, the tire pressures can be shown on the multifunction display.

Every tire gradually loses air over a period of months as a result of diffusion. The tire pressure monitoring system prompts the driver to correct the tire pressures in good time by means of a corresponding message. In case of a marked pressure drop while on the road, a yellow warning lamp will light up and a warning will appear on the display to enable you to take appropriate action.
